e-Learning

I have heard this from many quarters ranging from executives to junior employees and from university student to primary school pupils. Many head teachers in institutions of learning, human resource and training/capacity building personnel are in search on how well to integrate e-learning in their institutions. This integration in African has been achieved with limited success. Yet ICT seems to drive other sectors of the economy effectively. This begs a series of questions

Is the problem the understanding the e-learning concept, understanding on the best strategy of integration, policy issues in organizations that could work against integration or ICT illiteracy. Is the problem with e-learning venders and the cost of running the infrastructure?

There might not have instant answers, and they are subject to discussion. I have observed that e-learning is very flexible and can only be tailored at the organization level to meet the training needs. Entelisys Technologies, 2005 http://www.entelisys.com observes that ‘’The number one reason why eLearning initiatives fail is poorly identified requirements.”
